The Bucket Mill is an A-listed water powered sawmill in Finzean, Aberdeenshire. It is one of three outstanding surviving wood mills on the Water of Feugh which are of national significance.

This summer the Finzean Bucket Mill CIC, a not-for-profit social enterprise tasked with repairing the mill, is looking to reinstate the weir which is made of roundwood logs and river stone. Subject to permissions being granted work will begin in July or August.

As part of this work, skills training placements are available with a bursary to support travel, sustenance and accommodation costs. It is expected placements will be for one or two weeks.

If you have practical or trade experience, would be keen to learn more about building crafts and conservation or have completed a craft programme or fellowship, get in touch!

Please note: the nature of the work involved requires a reasonable level of mobility and physical and mental fitness. Applicants are expected to be self-motivated and organised and familiar with basic site safety. All applicants must be over 18 years of age.
