External Evaluation Consultant
Lake DistrictFreelanceUp to £5,000 (including VATApplication deadline: 17/10/2026, 23:59
The Mountain Heritage Trust (external link) (opens in new tab) is seeking an experienced Evaluation Consultant to help us measure, understand and demonstrate the impact of their National Lottery Heritage Fund (external link) (opens in new tab)-supported project, Moving Mountains with Purpose.
The Mountain Heritage Trust protects, preserves and shares an internationally significant collection relating to the history of British climbing and mountaineering. Based at Blencathra in the Lake District, they are embarking on an ambitious two-year project to strengthen the Trust, increase access to their collections, grow and diversify their audiences, develop their volunteers and partnerships, and build greater organisational and financial resilience.
They are looking for an evaluator who can work collaboratively with their trustees, staff, volunteers and partners to establish a practical evaluation framework at an early stage of the project and support us in using it throughout delivery.
The commission will include developing qualitative and quantitative measures; establishing a baseline against the project’s agreed outcomes and KPIs; advising the team on proportionate and effective methods of capturing evidence; and providing mid-project and final evaluation and learning.
They are particularly interested in hearing from consultants with experience of evaluating heritage, cultural, charitable or community projects, ideally including projects supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The total budget available is £5,000 including VAT.
